Comprised of a few ex-members of New Jersey hard-core metallists Mucky Pup, Dog Eat Dog was one of the number one punishing rock'n'roll outfits to be the cue of Anthrax and experiment with fusing metal and rap together -- a stylus that would afterward become commonplace. Founding members Dave Neabore (bass, vocals) and Sean Kilkenny (guitar) have proved to ever be at the core of the batting order, despite numerous other members sexual climax and departure over the long time. Starting out merely playing in friends' basements (and without a call at the fourth dimension), the grouping steadily built a following. They finally played in local clubs, which lED to the recording of a five-song demo that landed in the hands of Biohazard's Billy Graziadei, world Health Organization and then passed it on to an A&R man at Roadrunner Records. It wasn't retentive before the group signed to the pronounce, resulting in the 1993 six-song EP Warrant (the glam alloy Warrant had issued an album titled Dog Eat Dog one year sooner, so this was Dog Eat Dog's probability to return the favor).

1994 byword the release of Dog Eat Dog's debut full-length, All Boro Kings, as the group supported the album by opening a go for their friends Biohazard (the group enjoyed quite an a bit of success in Europe, where MTV Europe voted the band Breakthrough Artists of the Year in 1995). The band's following release, 1996's Play Games, featured several tracks produced by illustrious rap producers the Butcher Brothers (Cypress Hill, the Fugees), with guest appearances by Ronnie James Dio and Wu Tang Clan's RZA included as advantageously. A massive reality go followed, as the grouping opened shows/festivals for the likes of Rage Against the Machine, No Doubt, Sepultura, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, and Metallica. It wasn't until trey old age by and by that Dog Eat Dog would issue their tierce full-length, Amped, merely when the record album failed to break the band commercially, the grouping left Roadrunner for greener pastures. 2001 proverb the release of a compilation issued by their now-former label, coroneted In the Dog House: The Best and the Rest.

Northern Ireland would look an unlikely location to consecrate birth to a vaudeville-obsessed rommany vocalist poet, just try telling that to Lisburn (approximate Belfast) native Peter Wilson, better known by his stage name Duke Special. The self-proclaimed creator of "tramp chicness" -- a mention both to his distinctive dress style and his outstandingly refined spin on traditional music student residence and music hall forms -- cuts a hitting figure onstage, often playacting lone with only his pianoforte and old, screechy gramophone for complement. When he does choose to perform with a full circle, the scene stern more intimately resemble a full of life kitchen than a pop concert, with egg beaters and cheese graters among the less traditional instruments on offer.Undermentioned a number of low profile stints with local bands in Swindon, England, and Belfast, Wilson began his solo life history proper in 2002, taking on the name Duke Special -- "Duke" a peculiarly popular leg name for male music hall performers and "Special" a concession to the "glam" aspect of his case. His first gear two EPs, 2002's Lucky Me and 2004's My Villain Heart, were combined in 2005 into Adventures in Gramophone, his first gear uncut release, and a third EP, Your Vandal, followed later that year. Special barb from local hero to nationwide cult favourite following his performance on the fourth season of RTÉ television's Former Voices in 2006. His two-song set was deemed sufficiently impressive to be elect above the likes of Rufus Wainwright, Trashcan Sinatras, and Bell X1 as the viewers' to the highest degree requested performance during the end-of-series clip evidence.Duke Special released his sec album, and his first-class honours degree album proper, Songs from the Deep Forest in May 2006 as a set of six 7" singles on Izumi Records. The same month, he signed a recording contract with V2 Music. A CD release of Songs from the Deep Forest followed in October, and a opulent edition, including a ten-track bouncy disc recorded with the Ulster Philharmonic Orchestra, was packaged for freeing in September 2007.

Blanchett delivers eulogy at Ledger funeral

Actress Cate Blanchett delivered a moving eulogy at a memorial service in Perth, Australia for Heath Ledger on Saturday.
Over 600 family members, friends and fans gathered to bid farewell to the 28-year-old star, as Blanchett - who starred in 'I'm Not There' with Ledger - gave a touching eulogy about their time spent together.
Ledger's ex-partner Michelle Williams was also in attendance, but she did not bring the former couple's two-year-old daughter Matilda to the service at Penrhos College, a private girls' school.
After the service, 10 family members attended a private funeral at Fremantle Cemetery, where the body was cremated.
Mourners then gathered at a restaurant overlooking Perth's Cottesloe beach, one of Ledger's favourite spots, for a sunset wake.
Dozens of family and friends then threw off some of their clothes and ran into the water, where they hugged and cheered to celebrate Ledger's life, according to various reports.
Earlier Ledger's father Kim asked the media for privacy. He said to reporters: "It's a pretty sad time and we're finding it difficult to cope by ourselves, let alone cope with everybody around the world."
He continued: "Having said that we do really appreciate the outpouring and the emotional support from all over the world, which, suffice to say, we're luckier than most families, most families that are in our position, our grieving position, don't have that kind of support. So thank you all very much. That's all I've got to say.''
Ledger was found dead at his New York apartment on 22 January. Toxicology results released last week revealed he was killed by an accidental overdose of prescription medication.

A statement released by Aspinall's family, on behalf of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the widows of John Lennon and George Harrison, said: "All his friends and loved ones will greatly miss him, but will always retain the fondest memories of a great man."
In a separate statement, Starr added: "I've known Neil many years and he was a good friend. We were blessed to have him in our lives and he will be missed."
